Mark Kimbell Named President
of CPMC Foundation

Mark Kimbell, the President of CPMC Foundation, joined the Foundation in September 2009 from the Methodist Hospital System in Houston, Texas, where he was a Senior Vice President. Mark brings over 25 years of executive experience in the philanthropy world, having served as Executive Director of Development at Rice University, and President of Children’s Memorial Foundation in Chicago. Mark will also be filling the new role of Vice President of Philanthropy for the Sutter Health West Bay Region.

“I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of people and for such a well-respected institution,” Mark said, shortly after his appointment was announced. “While there are certainly challenges ahead, I see tremendous opportunity for our organization in the coming years.”

Mark is no stranger to identifying and making the most out of opportunities – at Methodist, he grew the annual fundraising dollars by more than 20-fold in only six years. Since stepping into his new role, Mark has already begun building bridges with the community to inspire a new wave of giving that will help support the upcoming effort to rebuild CPMC.
