CPMC Foundation: Our Leadership
Message from the President
Philanthropy plays a vital role in transformation of health care
By the end of the decade, health care as we know it will be vastly different. There will be precision therapies based on your own genetic profile, ambitious scientific investigations will yield more lifesaving discoveries, and the expert, compassionate care you receive at the new and improved Sutter Health CPMC will be even better and faster.
Philanthropy is already playing a vital role in this transformation. It creates innovative new models of care like the Ray Dolby Brain Health Center, which every year helps more than 2,000 patients and their loved ones deal with the daily challenges of a dementia diagnosis; provides funding for remarkable scientific investigations like the Cancer Avatar Project where CPMC scientists are studying live tumors from eight of the most aggressive cancers; offers comforting care for kids through the Novack Family Child Life Services; enables guidance and support for cancer patients through services like the Notkin Family Breast Cancer Recovery Program; expands medical student education through the Ungerleider Palliative Care Training Program for those who are suffering or nearing end-of-life and much more.
These are just a few examples of how visionary philanthropic investments from caring people in our community are empowering CPMC physicians and their teams to provide extraordinary care for your family, friends and neighbors. And, as the excitement surrounding the construction of our two new hospitals continues to build, we look forward to their rapidly approaching openings in mid-2018 and early 2019 – a full year ahead of schedule – to provide our community even better care than ever before.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making our community healthier, each and every day. Your compassion and commitment are truly appreciated.
