- Named one of the "Bay Area Best Places to Work" based on an employee survey administered by an outside firm for the San Francisco Business Times. (2006 & 2007)
- Voted “Best Hospital” by J Weekly Readers for three consecutive years. (2005, 2006 & 2007)
- Winner of the 2007 VHA Leadership Award for Community Benefits Excellence. This award honors organizations that have differentiated themselves around national performance standards by achieving exceptionally high levels of performance. CPMC was also honored for outstanding achievement in Clinical Performance improvement and High Reliability. Bing Tschai, RN, CNS also won the VHA Passion Award. (2007)
- Kidney Transplant Program recognized by the U.S. Government's Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which evaluated California Pacific's program for best practices based on our excellent outcomes. (2007)
- St. Luke's Campus earns a perfect 100 percent compliance with the Heart Attack Quality Measures established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. (2007)
- CPMC received a Quality Award from the Joint Commission for our participation in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP). (2007)
- CPMC’s Comprehensive Stroke Program received the American Stroke Association’s (ASA) Get With The Guidelines-Stroke (GWTG-Stroke) Initial Performance Achievement Award. (2007)
- Physician Recognition Award from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) – Back Pain Recognition Program (BPRP) received by four of our neurosurgeons (Andrews, Cobbs, McCormack, Weber). (2007)
- CPMC received Joint Commission "Primary Stroke Center" certification, the only non-university affiliated medical center in San Francisco to achieve this distinction. (2006)
- CPMC received accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) as a Chest Pain Center – one of four California hospitals, and the only one in Bay Area. (2006)
- California Pacific Medical Center was selected as a top VHA West Coast award recipient of the Performance Excellence Award for Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Performance measures. Recognition was also given to CPMC in the following award category: Team Collaboration. (2006)
- CPMC received a Medal of Honor from the United States Department of Health and Human Services for achieving a donation rate of 75 percent of eligible donors - well ahead of the national average. (2006)
- Health Champions was selected as one of only eight programs nationwide to participate in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Youth Obesity Learning Collaborative. (2006)
- Dr. Martin Brotman, CPMC President and CEO, received the California Hospital Association Ritz E. Heerman Memorial Award - CHA's highest honor, given to a CHA member for outstanding contribution to the health care community. (2006)
