Clinical Laboratory
At California Pacific Medical Center, our clinical laboratory professional staff includes Medical Technologists/Clinical Lab Scientists, Specimen Handlers/Phlebotomists, Laboratory Technicians, Aides and Assistants. Their many vital responsibilities include providing test results that assist physicians in patient diagnosis and treatment decisions. We have sophisticated biomedical technology, computers and up-to-date methods that require, among other things, very good communication skills, the ability to perform basic statistical functions, manual dexterity, and experience working with laboratory information systems.
We have opportunities available for several career tracks in the clinical laboratory sciences. There are positions in our three immediate response labs and the larger core lab. Each has its own unique character: the California campus serves primarily moms and babies; the Davies Campus has our primary rehabilitation services program; the St. Luke’s Campus has an active emergency department and a diverse patient mix; the Pacific Campus is the flagship hospital and includes the automated core lab.
We are seeking candidates with at least one year of recent clinical laboratory experience, either as a laboratory professional or through completion of a clinical laboratory training program. Current applicable California licensure is a must. Pathology Laboratory
At California Pacific Medical Center our pathology laboratory professional staff includes Laboratory Assistants, Accessioners, Histotechnologists, Cytotechnologists and Pathologist Assistants. Here in the pathology lab at the California Campus we have a fully-automated voice recognition system in the grossing room, and we are progressively automating our histology lab. There is a fully-equipped adult autopsy suite at the Pacific Campus. Specimen grossing and processing is handled at the California Campus for all four of the California Pacific Medical Center campuses. Each campus has its own unique character and primary patient population. The California campus serves primarily moms and babies; the Davies campus has our primary rehabilitation services program; the St. Luke’s campus has an active emergency department and a diverse patient mix; the Pacific campus is the flagship hospital.
Positions are available in our main pathology and cytology laboratory at the California Campus. We are seeking qualified candidates with a current applicable California license if required for the position of interest. Very good communication skills, the ability to perform basic statistical functions, manual dexterity and experience working with laboratory systems are must-haves.
