    2013 Annual Report on PhilanthropyOpen Heart Surgery at CPMC

    • CPMC was recognized for implementing the highest standard of care for heart attack patients when it received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline Gold Quality Achievement Award.

    • The Human Rights Campaign Foundation recognized CPMC for its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender patients and their families in the Healthcare Equality Index 2013 report.

    • CPMC was recently recognized by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients as the only hospital in the entire United States that had statistically better-than-expected survival rates for both kidney and liver transplants in adults.

    • The American College of Surgeons recognized CPMC as a National Surgical Quality Improvement Program. CPMC was commended for achieving the distinction based on outstanding composite quality scores for patient safety and the quality of surgical care improvements in the following areas: mortality, unplanned intubation, patients on ventilators greater than 48 hours, renal failure, DVT, cardiac incidents, respiratory, SSI and urinary tract infections.

    U.S. News & World Report ranked CPMC as one of the top hospitals
    in the San Francisco metro area and rated us as “High Performing”
    in the areas of neurology, neurosurgery and orthopedics.
