Pediatric Critical Care
California Pacific Medical Center offers multi-disciplinary, family-centered care for all types of critically ill and injured pediatric patients in our eight-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Our pediatric critical care physicians are assisted by a wide range of pediatric subspecialists, including a group of attending-level pediatric hospitalists who are present in the hospital 24 hours a day. The unit takes a cooperative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Our team includes physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, rehabilitation specialists and multiple other health care professionals comfortable in caring for critically ill and injured children.
The critical care physicians coordinate the transport of children from throughout Northern California. A physician-led transport team is rapidly available to accompany transport children by ground ambulance or by air. The intensive care physicians also regularly provide sedation for pediatric patients undergoing minor surgical and medical procedures.
Regular communication with referring physicians encourages continuous, high-quality patient care.
