Overview
The Pediatric Infectious Disease Program offers outpatient consultation in a child friendly environment. Your child will meet directly with our board-certified physician trained in pediatric infectious diseases, for an in depth encounter aimed at determining the type of infection or immune related problem that is present. Diagnostic and possible treatment plans will be discussed with you and your child in an environment that emphasizes communication between families and care providers.
Many different types of problems are seen in the Pediatric Infectious Disease Clinic, including but not limited to:
- Fevers
- Complex pneumonias
- Recurrent infections/Concern for immune problems
- Bone and joint infections
- Staph infections/MRSA
- Hospital follow-up of complex infections
- Post-surgical infections
- Infections in children with immune problems
- Tuberculosis
- Valley Fever
- Rashes which are thought to be due to an infection
- Swollen lymph nodes
