Unique Approach to Evaluation and Treatment
We emphasize streamlined care designed to reduce headaches and restore optimal quality of life as quickly as possible. Patients receive a comprehensive evaluation by a multi-disciplinary team who works together to create individualized treatment plans. This team includes a pediatric neurologist, nurse practitioner, biofeedback specialist and a social worker who specializes in psychosocial assessment of children living with chronic pain, a dietician who can identify food triggers and dietary prevention techniques, nurse practitioner and a biofeedback specialist.
By the end of the initial clinic visit, patients will have an individualized plan that includes:
- Abortive therapy for individual headache episodes, using migraine-proven treatments.
- Preventive therapy, both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic.
- Recognition of headache triggers and the importance lifestyle changes.
