Recognition of Stroke Symptoms "FAST" and the time of symptom onset (the time when person was last seen well or normal, not when person was found with the stroke symptoms), are important because "Time Saved is Brain Function Saved."

Learning the signs of stroke can save precious time and precious brain function.

Using the easy mnemonic device "FAST" to remember stroke symptoms can help expedite medical and surgery stroke intervention. If the stroke symptoms come on abruptly or are one-sided, CALL 911 immediately for emergency treatment.

    T: TIME

  • Time is critical
  • CALL 911
