Under the direction of Charles S. Cobbs, M.D., basic science research conducted through the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute is seeking to find the cause of malignant gliomas, the most lethal central nervous system tumors. Leading the way in finding brain tumor treatments, Dr. Cobbs has established one of only brain tumor stem cell tissue banks on the West Coast. Based on Dr. Cobbs’ findings, here at California Pacific, Duke University and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm Sweden, brain tumors are currently being treated using antiviral therapies.
