Nalani Dunn, MSW, LCSW
Social Worker
Nalani, a native Californian, received her undergraduate degree in Clinical Psychology at San Francisco State University and her Master’s in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley. In addition to her LCSW, she is an experienced psychotherapist specializing in family and couples counseling, as well as individual counseling.
Ms. Dunn has worked in a variety of medical settings for the last 18 years including hospitals, homecare and hospice. One of her specialties is working with clients diagnosed with memory problems, their families and caregivers. “Memory problems affect the whole family. Relationships change because roles change which can be sad and a difficult adjustment for the patient, spouse and children. My focus in working with families is on identifying strengths and assisting in increasing coping skills for both the patient and family. We do this through education, identifying practical solutions together, providing emotional support and appropriate referral to community supports.”
Jodi Bales, OTR-L
Occupational Therapist
Michelle Mendoza, P.T.
Physical Therapist
Michelle has worked at CPMC for 23 years. She is an expert in falls and strength testing. Michelle enjoys educating others with the goal of maximizing mobility and health.
Lee Guion, M.A., RRT
Respiratory Therapist
Lee has many years of experience caring for people with asthma and obstructive lung disease. For the past 10 years she has assisted people with sleep disordered breathing, especially those with obstructive sleep apnea. This disorder is often undiagnosed and should be treated, as poor sleep at night can limit your concentration and memory during the day. Lee’s post-graduate program in gerontology and experience working with older adults make her an asset to the Memory Clinic.
Cheryl Patterson, R.D.
Nutritionist
Cheryl enjoys sharing recommendations with family members on how to influence patient food choices to maximize nutritional intake. Her familiarity with senior mealtimes comes not only from her hospital and community experiences but from helping her own mother, a patient with Alzheimer’s. For example, limit menu choices to two selections; having control over food choices can empower an individual to eat more.
