The experienced transplant surgeons at California Pacific Medical Center have enjoyed outstanding results and are renowned for their excellence and dedication.

William Bry, MD is Surgical Director of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program at California Pacific Medical Center, where he has practiced since 1986. He received his medical training at St. Louis University followed by a surgical residency at University of California San Diego.









Assad Hassoun, MD is Surgical Director of the Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Program and performs kidney,pancreas and liver transplants. Previously, he was Director of the Pancreas Transplant Program at Scripps Clinic-Green Hospital in La Jolla, Calif. He also served as Clinical Instructor of Surgery at University of Minnesota Hospital. Dr. Hassoun received his MD from University of Mosul Medical College in Iraq.








Garrett Hisatake, MD joined the transplant surgery staff at California Pacific Medical Center from UCLA Medical Centr, where he served as Clinical Instructor of Surgery and Transplantation. His clinical interests include, living liver donor transplantation, transplantation for malignant diseases and minimally invasive surgery. He received his medical training a the University of Utah and University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital.








Harish Mahanty, MD joined the staff at California Pacific Medical Center in 2005 following a Transplantation Surgery Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the International Pancreas and Islet Transplantation Association. Dr. Mahanty received his M.D. from UCLA’s School of Medicine and is board certified in general surgery.
