On October 15, the SimSurg Education Center (SSEC) opened its doors at 475 Brannan Street, coinciding with the American College of Surgeons 94th Annual Clinical Congress held at the Moscone Center.

The SSEC is the only facility of its kind on the West Coast, providing a valuable resource for continuing surgical education. The simulation training center features a laboratory setting ideal for research and development in surgical skills innovation, anesthesia techniques and nursing education.

The center allows medical professionals to simulate critical situations without consequence to actual patients. This improves patient safety and clinical outcomes when medical staff encounter similar situations in real life.
