Bayview Child Health Center
Every child deserves high-quality health care close to home. At Bayview Child Health Center it’s our mission to make sure the children in our community are no exception. That’s why our clinic is located in the heart of San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood and offers a full range of services to all children. For families that are uninsured, we offer our pediatric services regardless of your ability to pay. We welcome walk-in appointments and our providers speak Spanish. Our team partners with families to care for children throughout every stage of development.
History
CPMC, Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, and CPMC Foundation responded to a compelling community need when they collaborated to open Bayview Child Health Center in 2007. In Bayview-Hunters Point, approximately 10,000 children are poor and carry a disproportionate burden of disease and disability. For example, one-sixth of all the children living in Bayview have asthma, a higher rate than in any other part of the city. The center has had an immediate impact on its patients’ health; immunization and asthma hospitalization rates for BCHC patients have significantly improved over neighborhood and citywide averages.

Services
- Pediatric care is available for your child through age 21. This care covers the following services: health exams and sick visits, physicals for sports or school, immunizations, asthma management, hearing and vision screenings, developmental checks, and care coordination.
- Mental health providers offer counseling and guidance regarding grief, trauma, exposure to violence, parenting support, foster care, and behavioral and emotional concerns.
- A nutritionist is available to help your child learn to eat healthier through health education and weight management programs.
- Dental services are provided onsite one day a month through collaboration with the Native American Health Center.
