    Gentle Stretch and Balance: A Program for Women with Arthritis

    Hosted by the WHRC, this six-week class is intended for women living with any form of arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and other chronic illness who want a low impact physical activity program with an emphasis on breath awareness to cope with chronic pain, fatigue, soreness, or stiffness in the muscles and joints. The class is designed for individuals of all ages and levels of mobility and fitness. Movements can be done seated or standing. Classes incorporate breath instruction, range of motion exercise and education on ways to reduce fatigue and improve bone strength, balance and bone health. Classes end with a brief meditation. 2017 start dates include the weeks of: 5/16; 6/27 (skip 7/4); 8/15; 9/26; 11/7 (skip 11/21).
